What a treat to watch Team Oracle win in dramatic fashion, here on the waters of San Francisco Bay! After losing the sprint to the first mark, Oracle completely submerges the boat, risking a pitchpole. Pitchpoles are bad on a small catamaran. They’re a disaster on larger boats.

After a quick recovery, Oracle methodically chases down the Kiwis, passing them on the ensuing upwind leg.
Check out Josh’s shots of the action. High Dynamic Range Toning cuts through the haze, adds drama, and highlights detail in the water spray. You’ll know the HDR-toned photos when you see them. Other photos cut through the daytime haze via increased “clarity,” Adobe’s name for midtone contrast. You can find the clarity slider in Adobe Camera Raw as well as Lightroom.
