Click here to leaf through several more photos in the San Francisco Chronicle. There you’ll see some shots by the pros along with many submitted by readers. It isn’t always apparent which level of experience shot which photo. You’ll also see the results of widely varying aesthetic decisions made during post-processing. You’ll see pro Photoshopped images, along with Instagrammed images. And you’ll see some gorgeous photos taken with the most basic equipment.
By the way, here’s a tip: when you see a gorgeous photo, don’t start by asking the photographer what camera she used. Because next time you have her over for dinner, she’ll compliment your food & ask you what brand of pots were responsible.
