Fading Fast
Your tapes are disappearing, and fast. Magnetic tape is the least durable of all consumer media, including photos, slides, and movie film. All sorts of ambient magnetic fields are wiping your tapes away, all the time. Customers have come in with precious tapes, only to find that they are already static.

Good news: Memento offers excellent value in Tape-to-Digital. Once transferred to MP4 (playable on most all modern devices and video services), your video will stop decaying. Standard DVDs do not last forever, but they should last a good 10-15 years. Computer files can last forever, and are usually easy to convert to the newer digital formats in the future.
Consider our Gold Archival option: these gold DVD disks should last for 50-100 years.
OK the DVD will last for 50 years, but will there be a computer to read it? Probably yes. Consider that the CD, introduced in 1980, is still readable in any Blu-Ray player today! The silver disk format is the longest lived modern media, and are likely to stay around a long time, with backward compatibility for decades.
Turnaround: Our in-house formats are normally transferred within a few days.

We only process NTSC format tapes in-house. NTSC is the North American tape format. If you have PAL (Rest of the world other than France) or SECAM (France), we can get those done for you, but we do not do them in-house. Pricing for PAL or SECAM is higher than our in-house pricing.
Pricing
Pricing Includes a single tape cassette, of an in-house format, up to 2 hours in length transferred to MP4. Saving your new MP4 videos to standard DVD is included. You can also buy one of our thumb drives, or bring your own, and we’ll deliver your files that way. One of our thumb drives can hold several hours of video.
